The salary range is great, if not really wide. My biggest concern is they're asking for 12+ years of experience in managing online communities, which could be fine if they count non-work experience.
However, if they're looking for professional community building in software or tech, communities of the kind they mean have only been around for maybe a decade (at most), so I'm not surprised that the job's been open as long as it has.
Lots of other Support and Success roles open at this company, although I've only looked at this one.

Position Overview 
At Autodesk’s Worldwide Marketing organization, we seek an extraordinary leader to shape the future of Autodesk’s community of customers, partners, and employees.  The Senior Director of the Autodesk Community will play a crucial role in actualizing the potential of the global Autodesk ecosystem by building and nurturing a vibrant and engaged community. You will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to enhance customer loyalty, advocacy and success while driving user adoption, and establishing a culture that honors skillful contribution, imaginative solutions, and compassionate interaction.
Reporting into the Vice President, Industry & Portfolio Marketing, the Senior Director of the Autodesk Community will be a strategic leader, responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive vision for Autodesk’s global community. You will lead impactful programs, and foster deep connections that will fuel innovation and accelerate the adoption of Autodesk’s technology. You will oversee a dynamics team of community professionals who design, build, and operate programs that empower millions of customers, partners, and employees to learn, connect, and grow with Autodesk.

Responsibilities 
- Community Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive community strategy aligned with Autodesk's business objectives. This includes defining goals, KPIs, and success metrics to measure the impact of community initiatives
- Programs: Create impactful and inclusive programs and experiences that drive customer loyalty, advocacy, and success
- Key Stakeholder Engagement: Develop relationships with Autodesk Executive sponsors and cross functional partners to understand their vision of community and how community supports current and emerging business strategies over time
- Community Engagement: Foster a sense of community and collaboration among users. Drive active participation and engagement within the Autodesk community by creating compelling content, organizing events, and facilitating discussions
- User Support: Oversee the development and implementation of effective user support programs and resources. Ensure timely and accurate responses to user inquiries, troubleshooting, and issue resolution
- Advocacy and Evangelism: Identify and nurture community advocates and influencers who can promote Autodesk products and services. Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to leverage user-generated content and testimonials
- Product Feedback: Act as a liaison between the community and product development teams, gathering user feedback, insights, and feature requests. Advocate for community-driven product improvements and enhancements
- Community Growth: Develop strategies to attract all current and new users to the Autodesk community. Expand community programs to engage senior leaders and executives. Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to drive user acquisition and retention initiatives 
- Metrics and Reporting: Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success and impact of community initiatives, including shared KPIs with all internal community partners. Provide regular reports and insights to senior leadership on community engagement, user satisfaction, and business outcomes 
Minimum Qualifications 
- Experience:  You have a minimum of 12+ years of experience driving user engagement in online communities of 5000+ members. Previous experience in the software industry or technology sector is highly desirable. Experience in marketing is preferred
- Leadership Skills: You have a proven track record of building, leading and managing high-performing teams. The team culture you have created inspires and motivates your team members to proactively create solutions, “dream big” about future programs, and achieve common goals  
- Strategic Thinking: You have the ability to develop and execute community strategies aligned with business objectives with experience in setting goals, defining metrics, and measuring success
- User-Centric Approach: You have a deep understanding of user needs, preferences, and behaviors. Your ability to empathize with users and advocate for their interests within the organization 
- Executive Presence and Communication Skills: Your written and verbal communication skills are excellent, with an ability to articulate complex ideas and concepts in a clear and concise manner. You also have the ability to tailor content and communication style to any audience within the organization. Experience in public speaking and presenting to diverse audiences is a plus
- Facilitation: You have guided diverse groups in exploring creative possibilities and synthesized output into an actionable state  
- Collaboration: You have strong relationship building skills and can collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, product development, and customer support
- Analytical Skills: You are proficient in data analysis and interpretation and have an ability to derive actionable insights from community metrics and user feedback
- Passion for Community: You have a genuine passion for building and nurturing online communities. You are familiar with community management best practices, trends, and emerging technologies

Salary transparency
Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $163,900 and $265,100. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
